Professor Meader conducts
sessions for ID students
Professor Bruce Ian Meader’s Introductory Typography class were challenged with a class assignment which involved promoting the Vignelli Center for Design Studies and applying the principles of fine typopgraphy. The project was an excellent example of how the Vignelli Center provides substantive content and effect on the educational programs of RIT.
This experience was designed to provide the participants with important graphic design tools with which they would create and produce a process book as part of their product development requirement for the course. An assignment to design a few pages from their book was incorporated into the second session to provide an opportunity for the students to receive feedback and suggestions for the completion of the document.
The new tools, along with the new knowledge gained during the sessions added, to the students’ competitive advantage as they move on to become professionals in the marketplace.
